Motorist flees after striking child in stroller in Tacony

A motorist stuck a child in a stroller on a Tacony street corner, then fled the scene during rush hour on Feb. 17, police say.

Investigators are looking for a dark green 1998 Dodge van with an extended roof and light green stripe on the side. The accident happened at 6:07 p.m. when a man was pushing his 3-year-old son in a stroller northbound on Ditman Street. As the pedestrians crossed Levick Street, the northbound van began to turn left onto Levick and clipped the stroller, ejecting the child.

The van stopped briefly before leaving the scene. A witness followed the van briefly before ending the pursuit. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
